This drive worked excellent right out of the box. I have an IBM ThinkCentre and the 80Gb drive that came with it was filling up after 4+ years. It only had 10% free space left. I was able to clone it and now its much faster loading and all my programs run much smoother. I was going to get a 300-350 Gb but the price difference was a no-brainer. I have always liked Seagate and several friends also recommended Seagate. Amazon, You made me a happy user of your service. Thank You

Selling point for this drive as quoted from Seagate.

I ordered two and one died in less than 24hours with very little use, the above should read 50%. While I personally prefer Seagate products this Drive OEMs warranty eludes me, I believe its 5 years but can't find that on Seagate's website and isn't stated on Amazon's site. Amazon is taking the HDD back without any issues and that's why I like to buy from them. Hopefully I will have no issues once the replacement arrives. I am using this in a NAS with RAID 1 so the other drive is in degraded mode at this point, to drill my point about how little this drive was used all I did was install the NAS software and made a few user/folder changes no data other then NAS software was installed.
Maybe the shipper was to rough for this drive I don't know but this is my experience.

Great value $47.00 for a 1TB SATA III hdd. Installed in minutes. Quiet operation. Only issue could be reliability and life of hdd and only time can tell.
